I spent most of today dealing with unbelievable bureaucracy which will probably drive me crazy one day. In between I had these 10 -15 minute windows of time and I shamelessly wasted them searching the internet. I am going to share few things that entertained me in the process.

Right now, one Czech and one Slovak TV Channel cooperate on a program called Czechoslovak Superstar. It is basically American Idol only obviously not American. I do not watch it but it is all over the tabloids and news and radios and I got intrigued by one girl singing Lásko voníš deštěm this weekend. It is a Czech “cover” of Black Sabbath´s She´s gone. New lyrics were written for Czech singer Marie Rottrová and I frankly like them and her version of the song better than the original (it only means it is awesome, not that Black Sabbath´s version sucks).

But this girl!!! This is the best version ever!!! I was going to translate the lyrics but gave up. Czech language is tricky, very pretty and complicated and my translation sounded completely shallow. Just “Oh, Love, you smell of rain/you have a scant of rain”, sounds so wrong whereas in Czech it is beautiful. Here is the video, you have to wait for the commercial to pass since it is from the official site, but I think it is worth it. The song is only like first 3 minutes. The rest is the jury ranting.

The Czech Press Photo 2009 announced the winners today and this is a picture (Joe Klamar, Agence France Presse (AFP), President Barack Obama in Prague) that won the main prize. It might seem plain, but it has a great message. The statue is of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk.

LOL RYO!!! But seriously that is one dinner I would like to eat! Also I have no clue why I find this message so amusing, but I do. One of many thoughts was, Ryo, you poor rejected attention whore! No idea why.

And one more, I have no idea where, but I think today somewhere I read that Kanjani8 will be guests on November´s SCP. At first I thought, oh great they will sing there again! I love every performance they did there (and that I saw). But the more I think of it, the more it is suspicious and now I suspect that maybe they will be guests for the talk show, which would be freaking amazing. You know a talk similar to one that Arashi did at the beginning of this year. Taichi and K8!!! YES PLEASE!!!

Speaking of Arashi, I got into a little fit today over another “We have subbed this and this, come here to download” post in Arashi communities. Because as always what followed was: “We are a locked community, read the instruction before joining, please be patient to get approved!” SERIOUSLY!!! I still have goose bumps from the re-approval process at Stormy since they managed to skip my comment and didn´t approve me for like 10 weeks. And all this time I was getting messages: please be patient, don´t send us messages asking why you were not approved already. I re(re)-applied at the end when I learned people were waiting like 10 days at max. They apparently just overlooked my first request and that is ok, that can happen, but why all those threatening posts about not contacting them. Anyway the bottom line is: Why do you even advertise when you make me jump so many loops to actually watch a video 3-5 minutes long? I know this is long and futile struggle and I was taking it calmly but I have seen like 10 posts like that in past few days and it just got to me. Riisa I am in your fit this time. I just need to breathe.

Tomorrow I am leaving for Brno (after yet another dentist visit). YAY! Today I felt like I wanted to go for a drive. I was contemplating on just taking the car and getting on the road for some time. It would work like this:

“Hi parents! May I borrow a car for about 4 hours? Without a reason.”
“Sure, go ahead. Here are the keys, the gas tank is full (*actually right now I could afford to fill the tank myself*). Have your fun.”
“Thank you.”
(And I take the car, drive for about hour and a half, have a coffee somewhere and drive back, while listening to some good music.)
“Here are the keys, the car is intact thank you very much.”
“You are welcome. It was a pleasure, feel free to ask anytime you feel like getting away from us. The car´s always here for you.”

OR NOT! I know I can be a spoiled brat sometimes. That´s all for now, “Oh Love, You were here, and you still are; only you are hiding … “

Arashi fandom is very tricky. I was an Arashi fan first, in Arashi fandom for well over a year before I was even remotely interested in other Johnny's.

Arashi fandom can be super helpful sometimes but they, like Arashi often is, are very exclusive and usually want to know that you are just as crazy about Arashi as they are before they give you anything. I don't understand how they think the fandom will grow if they don't want to share anything but at the same time I jump through all the hoops to join the comms because I do love Arashi and want their stuff.

It's kind of a catch-22.

I know all that and I have jumped all the hoops till now, but I am kind of getting tired of it lately:( And me too I am Jun-baited, hard core Arashi fan. For me too Arashi came about 9-10 moths earlier than Johnny´s. Even though NWP was my first j-drama, at the time I had no clue who Kame and Pi were or that they are more than teenage actors who landed a role in a great dorama:)

Anyway I will get over it and eventually jump few more hoops for "my boys" but first I really have to calm down a little:)

i have given up on most hardsubbing groups. usually there are softsubs on d-addicts for dramas and that's all i really care about right now. it's unfortunate that you can't keep up with the shows any other way, though. kind of makes me glad i don't follow them that closely.

someone who is a member should just make a sockpuppet journal and post reuploads to all of their videos. i'd like to see them piss and moan and try to make lj take it down. XD

In a way I agree with you, I like your idea, on the other hand without the subbers I can´t watch them so in the end I´ll shut up and go with the stream :( Not something I am proud of, but that´s the truth. That´s why I am angry, because I know where this is going, to another tons of communities being joined ... I am a weak person :)

i am totally a cunt about fansubs, i've worked for 2190830129831 sub groups INCLUDING ONE I STARTED MYSELF and it's always the same stupid bullshit. i don't blame your friend one bit, except that if i knew enough japanese to translate i probably wouldn't bother because unless i did EVERYTHING myself, which is a lot of fucking work (kudos to newshfan, as much as everyone hates her D:), because the more people you have work on something, the less control you have.

That video was amazing! I love eastern European covers of rock songs. Actually one of my favorite covers ever is a Norwegian cover of Leonard Cohen's "Little Blue Raincoat". Let me know if you are interested, I will be happy to upload it for you!

You know, I really enjoy driving. It's about a four hour drive to my parents house and if I don't have to do long drives all the time, I find it quite pleasant! XD

Song? Hmm ... if you feel like it I would like to hear. It is nice that you can see through language barrier since for example with this song, the text makes you feel it even more. And sometimes new language is a little disturbing:) And lol let´s ignor Norway is not Eastern Europe, Czech´s would kill you for saying they are and even Slovaks would pout and say they are CENTRAL not Eastern one:) But I get where you are coming from:)

I love driving most of the time, although for example the 2 hours drive to school is not so much fun anymore, because of many times I took bus there and back, I hate it on principle so even when I am lucky to drive, it doesn´t feel the same. But other places I love to drive to. Unfortunatly it is far from common for students to have a car here, and I do not personaly own one. I am just lucky my parents actually do let me drive a lot:)

people don't like her snide comments about groups she doesn't like in her summaries, other subbers don't like her because she is fast, etc. etc. i've known her for two years and while, yes, sometimes she says things that piss me off sometimes, above all else she's subbing for the fans and doesn't insist on any retarded rules. people will be like "well why does she sub that group's stuff if she doesn't like them?" when the answer is obvious because either no one else subbed it or it's locked away in a vault that you can only access after giving a bone marrow sample and offering your firstborn.

if only she did dramas. but i guess there's enough softsubbers out there, because every time i want to watch a drama there is someone doing softsubs for it. ^^

URGH ... anyway her coments amuse me most of the time (whether I agree or not)... I ... I think I don´t want to discuss this anymore, the reasons behind people getting so worked up (to resort to disliking, hating someone) about other people´s opinions, not being able to accept someone can have a different one that they have, because it puzzles me exceedingly especialy in something like fandom. I might sound as a hypocrite, but really I reserve like/dislike and hate for other things, whatever ...

I think I also promissed a liver, one of my kidneys, water from my womb (apparently it is supper healing) and some other parts of my body this year :)

I am greatfull for anything she subs really, I try not to become greedy ...
