And so it si Valentine´s Day ...
I had a fic planned, but it looks like it won´t happen for many reasons, though the day hasn’t ended yet. Since I have no idea when, or if, I post a story tonight, have some thoughts on the one I have planned and some more. These are extracts from IM conversations, but they do convey a message quite well, and I am lazy to reproduce them:
Me: I also started writing a Valentine´s KoyaShige today on the train, because I felt like writing some cheesy fluff, and those two can take it

I got stuck when Koyama´s character was about to make an appearance
About 1000 words into the fic
Something´s wrong with me I tell you
And Shige thinks in parentheses
I was kind of living only for my thesis and for that aforementioned exchange these past few days. I really want to thank everyone who has helped me in one way or another. Most of you have virtually held my hand at least once over past few days, some of you did much more. I can´t be thankful enough <3
One of the participants of that exchange messed up my email address and so her fic wasn´t in my mailbox on time. So until we worked things out and found out where the problem is, I thought I might need to write one pinch hit. Here´s another IM and a first line (or so) of a story that will probably never get written. Bu I like that line, thus here is the context:
Me: btw I have an urge to write about ryo and ueda and baby cries
Rin: ...
(btw Ryo, Ueda, and a baby? I think you need a break from working on fic stuff for a bit)
Me: i think the same

.
Me: "I think that this is Johnny telling me I should stop talking about getting married in my twenties," Ryo whispers, his voice full of plain fear. His arms are wrapped around a small bundle of moving limbs and are trembling as he tries to adjust their position without dropping the creature. Ueda thinks the baby is pretty, and Ryo needs saving.
that is the first sentence of baby fic that is not happening
Rin: I seriously burst out laughing when I read it.
Maybe you should write that after all?
I don't know.
At least post that sentence in an entry or something.

Me: haha me too
I hate myself for coming up with it
Rin: It's cute!
Me: The whole fic would be a disappointment after that.
Rin: SO TRUE.

Me: I would make it more about them than the baby but idk when I saw her prompts at first I was gonna go with something different
then this came up and I thought it could be this cute and sweet and sappy thing
then my brain came up with moral dilemma and the ending
then I got a fic for xxx...
Rin:: I like how you got so far as to actually reach a moral dilemma and an ending.

Me: There is nothing in between though
Wait there is a bad "sucking" joke, Ryo not being able to say a word breast to Ueda and then being sent off to buy a sunnar (baby formula)

There was also this meme where you wrote a snippet of a story for a title someone gave you. I wrote like three of them. One of them was for Amy´s The Total of Our Longings
This is the result:
Amount of freckles on your nose and on my cheeks. The total of your blond hair, the color fading under the strong sun, and the sum of blisters on the soles of my feet, sand being too hot when I bore my way through it. The shy love bite behind your ear and deep scratch of your nails on my back. When I add them all, multiply by the years that have gone by since I last saw them and divide by the hurt that you felt when I couldn´t see them, that´s when I finally express all that desire in something tangible. In a number written in the deep snow that has covered the ground on the last day of yet another year.
I kind of possibly like it mostly because I like math, I think. It´s kind of romantic, so it fit´s today I guess.
I am off to do some more exchange work (though not Ficolate for once ;D). I hope you have/had a good day!!!
