My sister doesn´t usually tag people so “I TAG MY SISTER!” at the end of the huge fic meme she had done made me want to choke her. She was 10 meters away at the time. I should´ve tried. Now she´s pretty damn far though after filling this in, I feel the need to murder her even more. You know me, every attempt to talk about my fanfiction ends in disastrous and lengthy post. This one is not an exception.
A
1) How about a brief introduction of yourself?
Not much imagination, a brain that doesn´t want to take a break at night and insists on knowing “how it ends, right here, right now!”. I also talk a lot, whine a lot, try to smile on occasions and study (for now).
And as expected this is not brief at all.
2) Fabulous! And what got you into fanfiction to begin with?
I used to be a member of Aibakaland, before they kicked everyone out and started with weird rules. But anyway, there was an awful Matsumiya angst (and pron) that had me disturbed, asking what the hell is wrong with people and if all fanfictions are like this. I googled.
3) I see, so what kind of fanfiction do you like to write?
I guess romance. Basically whatever my brain decides to produce while dealing with my RL issues. You would never guess what is going on around me by reading them though.
4) Do you write the same pairings/characters? Or are you a fandom whore?
Yes I do. Admittedly it has gotten better lately, but my roots are strong ;D
5) What is your most popular fanfic and why do you think people like it so?
Judging by comments, then definitely He knew (last chapter). Why? No idea. Surprisingly lots of people read multi- chapters though. And the number of comments shocked me when I looked back at it a while back.
6) Forget other people, what is the fanfic you've written that you're most proud of?
Here we go again. I am proud of Darkness for being able to pull it off even if it is miles from my comfort zone. As far as Johhny´s go, in retrospective Misfortunes are kind of awesome due to appearance of Ryo´s painted nails and socks. I think the whole story is pretty good in mocking and really crack-y if you look at it the right way.
7) Do you find writing easy? Hard? What are the most difficult aspects of writing you struggle with?
If writing gets hard, I stop doing it. I am not an aspiring writer and I write to relax. Yes, sometimes there are deadlines to meet and fics to write and I force myself to start, but then I get swallowed by the story and nothing is hard anymore. If that doesn´t happen, I stop and try some other time.
As for aspects, I struggle with variety, some pretense of a plot and most of all judging if what I write can pull others into the story or is in any way at least a bit intriguing. We have been here, right?
8) Write a few sentences or so of your favorite pairing or character.
Ryo blinked and turned to look around the room, not knowing where he is and how he got there. And then he blinked one more time. The room was empty, white walls, high ceiling, the only furniture – a strange chair, almost a throne in one corner. It looked familiar.
When Ryo shook his head, confusion and a slight fear blurring his senses, there was a soft laughter resonating around the room. Awestruck, Ryo realized that out of nowhere Ueda Tatsuya was sitting at that throne, hair mused, whip in hand. No wonder the chair looked familiar.
"Where the hell am I?"
"Didn´t you just answer your own question?" Tatsuya purred, the whip cutting through the air instead of a question mark.
"Hell?" Ryo laughed. No way, as far as he could tell he was still alive and breathing. "And what are you supposed to be? The devil himself?"
Tatsuya laughed.
"No, that would be too easy. I am your subconscious." This time, the sound of the whip pierced through his ears, his head, his mind. He woke up with a gasp and a prickling feeling on his cheek. He almost expected blood on his fingers when he rubbed the painful spot. There was nothing. Just Ryo´s unsettled mind and the image of Ueda laughing at him behind his eyelids.

9) Are there any fanfiction trends/cliché's you can't stand or are just sick of?
Ueda-hime, the weak 5 year old, crying his eyes out, RyoDa being teenagers who don´t even talk properly and are clinging to each other sickeningly and Massu having only purpose in his life – eating gyoza. (at least give him a steak for a change sometimes!)
10) Are you guilty of any of the fanfiction trends/cliché's you now hate? Or are there any other ones?
My Ueda used to be weak, not completely but yeah. He was never Hime though, unless teased with humor.
As for Massu, I try to give him properly balanced diet in my works. I write fluffy stuff, is that a cliché? Well tell me what are my biggest ones.
11) What was the first fandom you wrote for? Do you still like/participate in it?
RyoDa and yes XDDD
12) Name your OTPs or most frequently written pairings/characters and explain what it is about them that you love to write.
RyoDa (as I have said before, I like my delusional fix) and I have written surprisingly lot of Jin in general. I have fun writing him, he is good background character, but yeah I´ve written him with Ueda, Pi, Maru (*__*), there was that one Akame drabble... I think partly Jin himself is responsible, because he has started to smile more recently and I like Bandage and Wonder. So yeah basically Ryo, Ueda and Jin in many variations and pairings ;D Come to think of it there is some Maru lurking around as well.
13) What would you call your writing "style"?
Scattered?
14) Do you read other people's fanfic? If so, what do you find yourself reading the most?
I do, of course. I prefer “non” AU and "non angst". Other than that, crack, humor, fluff, romance, gen, smut, I read it all, the only thing that matters is the mood
15) Name one thing you'd love to write, but have been too afraid or shy to do.
Arashi gen. But I don´t think it is happening anytime soon or if ever. Besides there is plenty of good Arashi gen to read if you search, enough to satisfy my sometimes surfacing need.
16) Do you have trouble taking criticism? Or worse yet, do you have the dreaded bloated ego?
No and IDK but I think No. Criticism, either I think it is interesting, and actually try to look at it through that person´s eyes, or I respectfully disagree but I don´t ever intend to please everyone, so I´m not bothered. Unless you say my Massu is out of character. Because he is not, that is how I see him. And you are probably just another one of those who can´t see pass his gyoza. He eats apples too!!! Sorry I seem to be kind of stuck on this, but I have read a fic recently that was supposed to be Massu centric but the poor guy just ate through the whole thing. I didn´t finish it, because I kept thinking he would explode by now. If he wasn´t so damn hard to write I would do it more often just to let the guy have some fictional life.
All in all I mean it when I say comments are love, constructive criticism even more at the end of my fic entry. Even when it´s not there, it´s still valid. I just probably forgot to put it in.
17) When you write, is there anything that helps? Music? Quiet room?
Music, there is always music.
18) What inspires you?
I don´t really believe in inspiration. But if you insist, then, when it comes to fanfiction, I tend to search for stupid details or insignificant comments those guys say, or just something they wear and then make up a story revolving completely around it, turning it upside down or something.
19) Lastly, how would you sum up your fanfiction experiences and yourself as a writer?
Fanfiction is fun fiction. I am laid back and write because it keeps me sane, I don´t need to push it. I kind of don´t know what to write in here. I am not original, extraordinary or particularly witty but people seem to like cheesy, so I´ll continue to post it, no harm to me and maybe someone has a bit sweeter day because of it.

What's 1 about?
For the love of the game. It´s a spin off from the AU sentence of that 10 sentence meme that went around: “When Koki likes something, he is devoted; and he likes his local baseball club and their matches a lot, and so he takes it upon himself to make the star of the team, the young pitcher Kamenashi Kazuya always happy; for the sake of a good game.“ This verse is fun to write, it has one more story, written recently, and I like their inside joke.
Number 2?
He knew – ok story wise, it probably has some plot in those 13 chapters. It´s kind of Ryoda “history fic”. It starts with Ryo snatching a notebook from Ueda, thinking it´s diary. It´s Ueda´s notebook for music and texts actually. Not original at all. Anyway there is obviously misunderstanding, years when they don´t really talk, there is Nakamaru (and some Massu ;D) and when they finally grow up, the notebook still haunts them. Or something. It really is typical Ryoda, mean Ryo, awkward young Ueda (luckily getting mostly over himself), arguing, some fist fights, whatever, I like how the notebook kind of connects the story.
Number 3?
Maybe Misfortunes, which is a story where Ryo´s life is hard. Or Too woo, where my picking up on details shows and in which Ueda gets a new accessory from Ryo.

This is Our Big Bang by crystallekil, College Still-Life (Higher Education, Eat Your Heart Out) by moonbyrd I could go on forever!!! Like the old school Ryoda, or just about every story that has some cool imagery ... I kind of never was any good with picking my favorites.

There is romance, tons of gen with even more humor, more humor and I believe two of the above include pron as an addition to a great story.

I wasn´t sure about it but looking back now, seriously, their cracky dysfunctional love relationship in the back ground is too much fun.

This is how our street looked liked this morning.
My friend came over by car and got stuck in the middle because he made a mistake of stopping the car. He had to back out of our little dead end until he was on a more flat part of the road, there was no way for him to move forward near my house. I had a good laugh though. He doesn´t use rearview mirrors when driving backwards, which caused him lot of trouble because at the time there was loads of cars parked along both side of the street. He can´t keep going in straight line!!! ROFL he would never manage to get out of our driveway for instance. Ok I am stopping now.
This is a snowman that the lady who came to clean the house today made in between her work.
Don´t ask. It was still kind of snowing at the time. Now looking out of the window, the snowman is dead, melted and in pieces. Right after snow came rain, heavy heavy rain …
And thus, this is the umbrella I had to buy when in town (to prevent feeling of being under the shower head), because there was not one functioning umbrella at home and my own is in Brno.

She gave me the keychain and was like, “one of those automats at a game center spit this out. Here, have it.” <3 LMAO Now I have to find a place for my Yamapi. I don´t like having bulky keys, I don´t use a keychain right now, just one of those strings, but I will find a place for it. “Yamapi won´t sit in a corner!” Or something. It totally cracks me up though. I wanted to talk to her moaaaar. I wasted my 5 minutes with Yoko - on the phone with my sister. Argh … once the exams are over and she will catch up with school, I will. I didn´t even manage to take a picture of her as evidence. She wore a cool hat!!!
Coding this was outrageous.
After all this rant, I wonder how my next statement will come out.
While doing this meme and stuff today, I realized I need a break. This isn´t really a hiatus announcement, but. I won´t post much until exams are over, if I ever post. I will still be on LJ and read your entries and probably even comment, but I refuse to get kicked out of (read fail) the exam for a first time during my last proper exam period.
As for writing, here as well I am taking a little “alone time”. I still have tons of request to do and an exchange fic (actually two of them damn it!) to write, so I won´t stop writing completely, but I will try to restrain myself. For various reasons, not only for lack of time.
As for your request, they will get done. Only not so soon. Good thing none of you really asked for anything Christmasy. I have one WIP with a prompt “snowed in” to write and I will finish that, because it feels wrong coming back and writing it somewhere in let´s say April. Though it has like no plot, so it is a question if it gets posted or trashed. It all hangs in next few sentences. But other than that and other than exchange fics, I need a little distance. I still have myje_holiday fic to repost and I will do that, so really you will see me around but I will try hard to keep my fingers to myself and off the keyboard when not writing thesis or working.
I think that is all I wanted to say, I am not sure how long I will last and I think you will know when I pass or fail an exam or something else and huge happens. In the meantime, if someone wants an email, or my messenger contact or something, ask. But just to be clear, I get bitchy and don´t respond too much once exams really settle over me.

I don´t really believe in inspiration. But if you insist, then, when it comes to fanfiction, I tend to search for stupid details or insignificant comments those guys say, or just something they wear and then make up a story revolving completely around it, turning it upside down or something.

Fanfiction is fun fiction. I am laid back and write because it keeps me sane, I don´t need to push it. I kind of don´t know what to write in here. For the love of the game. It´s a spin off from the AU sentence of that 10 sentence meme that went around: “When Koki likes something, he is devoted; and he likes his local baseball club and their matches a lot, and so he takes it upon himself to make the star of the team, the young pitcher Kamenashi Kazuya always happy; for the sake of a good game.“ This verse is fun to write, it has one more story, written recently, and I like their inside joke.
Number 2?
He knew – ok story wise, it probably has some plot in those 13 chapters. It´s kind of Ryoda “history fic”. It starts with Ryo snatching a notebook from Ueda, thinking it´s diary. It´s Ueda´s notebook for music and texts actually. Not original at all. Anyway there is obviously misunderstanding, years when they don´t really talk, there is Nakamaru (and some Massu ;D) and when they finally grow up, the notebook still haunts them. Or something. It really is typical Ryoda, mean Ryo, awkward young Ueda (luckily getting mostly over himself), arguing, some fist fights, whatever, I like how the notebook kind of connects the story.
Number 3?
Maybe Misfortunes, which is a story where Ryo´s life is hard. Or Too woo, where my picking up on details shows and in which Ueda gets a new accessory from Ryo.

Tegomass. RyoUchi and Akame can be offered in only small doses, though this year´s holls had some awesome Akame and I have read shameful amount of it. Thus until next year, I don´t need any. In general, I don´t read Junno or Tegoshi in slash (though slight deviations from the rule have happened).

I kept having fun making Ryo or Ueda falling asleep in the most bizarre “dorama” way. And the Akame part of The Memory of You that My Body Remembers. I wasn´t sure about it but looking back now, seriously, their cracky dysfunctional love relationship in the back ground is too much fun.

For those who don´t care about my meme, I have some picture time!!! My sister did this quick post today with a picture and then a comment and I kind of liked it. So I am shamelessly parroting. I just have more pictures.
This is how our street looked liked this morning.
My friend came over by car and got stuck in the middle because he made a mistake of stopping the car. He had to back out of our little dead end until he was on a more flat part of the road, there was no way for him to move forward near my house. I had a good laugh though. He doesn´t use rearview mirrors when driving backwards, which caused him lot of trouble because at the time there was loads of cars parked along both side of the street. He can´t keep going in straight line!!! ROFL he would never manage to get out of our driveway for instance. Ok I am stopping now.
This is a snowman that the lady who came to clean the house today made in between her work.
Don´t ask. It was still kind of snowing at the time. Now looking out of the window, the snowman is dead, melted and in pieces. Right after snow came rain, heavy heavy rain …

She gave me the keychain and was like, “one of those automats at a game center spit this out. Here, have it.” <3 LMAO Now I have to find a place for my Yamapi. I don´t like having bulky keys, I don´t use a keychain right now, just one of those strings, but I will find a place for it. “Yamapi won´t sit in a corner!” Or something. It totally cracks me up though. I wanted to talk to her moaaaar. I wasted my 5 minutes with Yoko - on the phone with my sister. Argh … once the exams are over and she will catch up with school, I will. I didn´t even manage to take a picture of her as evidence. She wore a cool hat!!!
Coding this was outrageous.
After all this rant, I wonder how my next statement will come out.
While doing this meme and stuff today, I realized I need a break. This isn´t really a hiatus announcement, but. I won´t post much until exams are over, if I ever post. I will still be on LJ and read your entries and probably even comment, but I refuse to get kicked out of (read fail) the exam for a first time during my last proper exam period.
As for writing, here as well I am taking a little “alone time”. I still have tons of request to do and an exchange fic (actually two of them damn it!) to write, so I won´t stop writing completely, but I will try to restrain myself. For various reasons, not only for lack of time.
As for your request, they will get done. Only not so soon. Good thing none of you really asked for anything Christmasy. I have one WIP with a prompt “snowed in” to write and I will finish that, because it feels wrong coming back and writing it somewhere in let´s say April. Though it has like no plot, so it is a question if it gets posted or trashed. It all hangs in next few sentences. But other than that and other than exchange fics, I need a little distance. I still have my
je_holiday fic to repost and I will do that, so really you will see me around but I will try hard to keep my fingers to myself and off the keyboard when not writing thesis or working. I think that is all I wanted to say, I am not sure how long I will last and I think you will know when I pass or fail an exam or something else and huge happens. In the meantime, if someone wants an email, or my messenger contact or something, ask. But just to be clear, I get bitchy and don´t respond too much once exams really settle over me.
Right. To end on the positive note, ONE OK ROCK has rocked their new song and PV and I can´t wait to add the single to my music folder. ♥
