I keep forgetting to ask, does any of you have a good pancakes recipe? Probably the typical milk and butter pancakes.

I know I can google it and I will find bazillion of them. Which is WHY I'm asking in the first place. I'd prefer to try something that someone I know has a good experience with . . .

In addition to maple syrup, you two have something else to recommend?

Date: 2012-01-19 12:07 am (UTC)I use Crisco, but some other kind of oil/fat/butter should work too. You do not have to put a lot in; the pan just needs a little coating of something to prevent sticking. I would maybe just try using whatever you usually use to prevent sticking when you cook.
I love these plain without any topping, but when I use a topping I actually use jam rather than syrup. Raspberry or other tart flavors are good, as the pancakes are a little sweet. Fresh fruits are good too. I have never tried it, but peanut butter would probably work well. And when you mentioned honey I thought that actually sounded like it might be good on them as well.
Happy eating!
